Consideration of making a recommendation with reference to approving requests from the following entities for grant funding from the Gaming Fund.  Each item, if approved, will include adoption of a resolution approving a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the Police Jury and the requesting entity, as well as authorization for the President of the Police Jury, or his designee, when appropriate, to execute all documents related thereto.  The requests are as follows:

(A) Ward Three - $6,000 - Recreation District No. One of Ward Three - for costs related to summer activity programming at Foreman-Reynaud Community Center; and

(B) Ward Three - $12,000 - Recreation District No. One of Ward Three - for costs related to the construction of a cricket field at the Enos Derbonne Sports Complex.

AGENDA NOTE:  Cost share for this project is 25% from each of the following entities:  Police Jury, City of Lake Charles, Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitor's Bureau, and Private Partnerships.

Consideration of making a recommendation with reference to approving requests for grant funding from the Economic Development/Parishwide Needs Allocation of the Gaming Fund.  Each item, if approved, will include adoption of a resolution approving a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the Police Jury and the requesting entity, as well as authorization for the President of the Police Jury, or his designee, when appropriate, to execute all documents related thereto.  The requests are as follows:

(A) Community Center and Playground District No. Two of Ward Four (SPAR) - $35,000 - for costs related to the LHSAA Girls State Softball Championships to be held in Sulphur in April, 2019;

(B) Community Center and Playground District No. Two of Ward Four (SPAR) - $10,000 - for costs related to the LHSAA Boys State Baseball Championships to be held in Sulphur in May, 2019;

(C) Calcasieu Parish Voluntary Council on the Aging, Inc. - $100,000 - funding assistance for the 2019 Meals on Wheels program;

(D) Louisiana High School Athletic Association - $10,000 - for costs associated with the LHSAA Boys Basketball Championships (Marsh Madness) held at the Burton Coliseum Complex in March, 2019; and

(E) Louisiana High School Rodeo Association - $25,000 - for costs associated with the 2019 State High School and Junior High School Rodeo which will be held at the Burton Coliseum Complex in May-June, 2019.
